Hurricane Michael Recovery and Help
In the wake of Hurricane Michael, we are aware that many of our students, faculty and staff are facing significant damages to their homes and are without power, water, supplies and more.
TCC is here to help.
Students who have been impacted by the storm can contact the Dean of Student Services office at DOS@tcc.fl.edu, or stop by the Student Union, Room 154 for drop-in hours which are Thursday, 3-4 p.m.and Friday, 9-11 a.m. The dean’s office is assisting students with getting:
- Self-help and referral information
- Campus resources
- Counseling services
- Discounted bus passes
- Food stamp replacement
- Victim Advocate services
- Access to the food pantry
- Connection to community resources
We also have plenty of resources and services available for any faculty and staff who are in need. Contact my office at tccpres@tcc.fl.edu and my staff will work to ensure those needs are met.
As our community recovers from Michael, we recognize how fortunate we are compared to our sister colleges, Chipola College in Marianna and Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, which have sustained catastrophic damages. We have been in contact with both institutions and are working with the Florida College System chancellor to provide any assistance they might need.
If you would like to donate supplies now or learn more about the relief efforts now underway at TCC, visit www.tcc.fl.edu/recovery.
In the wake of such a storm, we must show our compassion and understanding for each other and our neighbors. Together we are stronger.
