We have received many questions from TCC employees about what steps they can take to help ensure continuity of operations during this time of uncertainty. In response, Information Technology is sharing the following steps that you may wish to take to help ensure that you can continue to have access to the information and communication tools that you need:
– While many of you store all of your documents in the cloud in OneDrive, not everyone does, and not every document you may need access to is there. It is recommended that you move any essential or important documents to OneDrive so that they are accessible to you wherever and whenever you need them. Here is some information to help you: OneDrive – Video Training
– As a TCC employee you have access to the entire Microsoft Office suite of applications in the cloud. But you may not have known that every current employee is able to download full copies of Microsoft Office to be used on some of their personal non-TCC devices (computer, phone and tablet). Having the Office suite on your personal device will allow you to easily continue to work with the documents that you have stored in OneDrive.

– Microsoft Teams is a robust collaboration tool that we feel will be of great value to departments, divisions and workgroups. It allows for the easy sharing of documents, collaboration on files, and easy communication via chat/audio/video. We had planned to roll this out to the campus later this spring, with training materials, but it seems prudent to roll it out now (we will have more information about Teams to share with you later this spring). If you are interested in a Team for your department, division or workgroup please complete the Microsoft Teams Request Form. For a better understanding and brief overview of Microsoft Teams, feel free to view our Quick Start Guide.
– Some employees may need to send and receive calls on their mobile device using their campus phone number. Using the Avaya IX Workplace app on a mobile device, iPhone and Android users can receive and make calls that appear as your assigned TCC phone number. Since this requires additional licensing and configuration, we are asking people interested to complete the Avaya IX Workplace Request Form.
– Finally, we would like to know about any software that you are using that is critical for your work other than Microsoft Office, Office365, Workday, or Canvas. We are asking you to fill out the following form so that we can have an inventory of the mission critical software that is in use at the College: Software Survey
We hope that these resources prove useful to you and your teams, now and in the future.
